Voyageur 

Embark on a 5 day, 50-mile-plus canoe trip down the breathtaking New River. We are looking for a few stout mates 
who are ready to put their sense of adventure and their canoeing skills to the test. Throughout your journey, you will learn
about the French Canadian Voyageur adventurers who served a vital role in the fur trade and exploration of the New World. 
During your trek you will have opportunities to:
- Hone your paddling skills
- Learn to read white water
- Fish the abundant waters of the New River
- Learn about local history
- Earn advancement
- Raft Class V rapids at the New River Gorge
At the end of this trip, each member of your crew will have a great sense of personal accomplishment coupled with a new 
found respect for the mighty New River.

Mountain Man

Travel back in time to 18th Century Appalachian Virginia where a single shot muzzle loader, an axe, and a hunting
knife were essential to a man's survival. At Mountain Man, Scouts will live like the Long Hunters who explored, 
trapped, and ultimately settled Virginia's western frontier.  Whether drawing water from the creek, cooking over 
an open fire built with flint and steel, or simply dressing in period appropriate clothing for the week, Mountain 
Man is a true living history experience.

New River Adventure

If you are a thrill seeker looking for a rollercoaster week of challenge and fun, look no further than the 
New River Adventure. This program combines the teamwork, leadership, and the confidence building activities 
of our Nationally accredited C.O.P.E. Course with the thrills, skills, and challenge of several high adventure 
activities.
