WELCOME
TO TROOP 1154
On behalf of the boys and leaders in Troop 1154, we welcome
you. Formed in December 2000 and
chartered by the Ashburn Ruritan Club, our Troop is continuing the Scouting
tradition in the Ashburn area.
The troop offers a year-round outdoor-oriented program that
enables our boys to learn valuable life skills, advance in rank, and have fun
while doing it.
Scouting is much more than rank advancement - it is
development of life-long skills. Those skills are needed not only personally,
but also to better serve God, family, community, country, and others. Our goal is to help equip boys for life and
service, with advancement coming as a natural result of this effort.
Advancement is not forced. Scouts are encouraged to
gradually accept more and more responsibility and personal initiative towards
taking control of their own advancement.
The Boy Scout method is boys leading boys, under the
guidance of adults. And to have FUN
doing it!
Our intent is to focus on the basic skills and requirements
necessary to obtain First Class rank supplemented with various merit badges,
especially those required for Eagle Scout.
While it is estimated that only about 2% of boys who start in Scouting
attain the rank of Eagle Scout, we commit ourselves to providing every Scout in
our Troop the opportunity to progress to and reach this highest award of the
Boy Scouts of America.
The Troop meets year round.
Troop meetings are held every Thursday at
Our program involves getting outside to experience nature
and develop life skills. Outings

Troop 1154 is a full uniform Troop. As Scouts earn their rank advancement, they
are expected to display it on their uniform in its proper location.
Our goal
is to provide a well-rounded set of activities where boys have a great
opportunity to learn, acquire skills, and experience life, all while having
fun!
